I fish and hike most weekends and the tops of my forearms used to go red every single time, even when I forgot to reapply sunscreen. Wore this navy one on a six hour coastal hike and nothing, not a mark. Sleeve goes all the way to the wrist and stays put. It is thin but never clings when you sweat, and it dried on my back within maybe twenty minutes after the climb. Fit is close without being tight, I am 1,85m and the L was right.
Wanted something for early starts in the hills that would block the wind without cooking me once the sun came up. This does both. Zips right up at the neck and the wind just stops. Packs down small enough to shove in a daypack and forget. Matte black, looks like a normal jacket, not gym kit.
spent nine hours out chasing snapper off the boat, full sun the whole time. usually i cook out there. this time my arms were fine and the white kept me cooler than i expected. got splashed a fair bit and it was dry again in no time. only thing, white shows a bit of everything so i ordered a navy as well.
I burn on the tops of my ears and the back of my neck every summer on the water. This brim is wide enough that all of that stays covered now. The little side vents actually move some air so my head does not sweat as bad. Chin cord keeps it on when the wind picks up on the lake.
Bought two of these for yard work and coaching my son's ball games where I stand in the sun for hours. Material is genuinely nice, light and it moves with you. Knocked off a star only because the M was a little snug across the chest and I probably should have gone L, so if you are on the line size up. Washed both maybe eight times now and they look the same as day one, no fading on the navy.
